Armed with Alphie

This morning in about an hour, I am giving my GPS it's first official test run. I have only used it to go places I already know in the month it's been in my possession. I wanted to get used to it before I used it to go to the unknown. Today, I go to an unknown place. I've been there a couple of times, but never alone and never where I've been the one driving. So today, I go armed with Alphie.

Hopefully Alphie won't steer me wrong. If it does, I am going backed up with maps. Always have a back up plan I say. I'm confident I'll make it there just fine though. I have been there before, but it's been years. Rob gave me the GPS to give me confidence. Today I go in confidence knowing that "home" is a button away.

I'm going to meet my best college friend, the first person I met in my first class. Whenever I think of WCU, this person is the first one to come to mind. He lives near Charlotte so we're going to meet at the half way point so neither has to drive. I wish my hubby could go, but it's his weekend to work. So I trudge solo to Greensboro armed with Alphie.

Hi Ho Hi Ho, it's off to Greenboro I go (well in about an hour)

*take the back up plan back* there are no back up maps. The printer isn't working. So I go armed with Alphie.

*** back up plan was not needed. I made it there and back in one piece without getting lost even once!!!! ****

Ours is named Gertrude and we call her Gerty for short. She tried to kill me 3 times in one day! She told me to turn right OFF OF A BRIDGE! Thankfully, I knew where I was going and I told her NO....and we haven't had a chance to properly mend our relationship since...
